Alexandria Tea Party

We have been invited to march with the Alexandria Tea Party in the Old Town Alexandria St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 6th.  If you would like to join this event, meet at the northwest corner of  Prince and Daingerfield Sts at 11:30 (Daingerfield is a cross street from Duke to King Sts between Reinekers and Peyton Sts-- a couple of blocks from the King St Metro) --this will be close to whatever staging location they end up getting.  If you can't make 11:30, we can be identified by a number of American flags and an Alexandria Tea Party Banner.  The staging area is from Prince to King Street west of West St. Please contact parade@alexandriateaparty.com to RSVP if possible.

Guidelines

This is not a rally, we need to be low key. We will be passing out Constitutions, fliers, and candy. It would be great to show numbers so show up if you can.

Signs

Signs should be either quotes from founding fathers or similiar.  Please! no partisan or attack type signs.

Dress

Try to dress in patriotic colors, vintage or tea party attire.  No partisan or attack t-shirts.  George Washington will be there!

Other

Dogs are allowed.  Recognize that this will be a few hours and there will be a lot of people around but if they like that, they're welcome. (bring poop bags)

We need wagons to carry candy and literature; also  aprons to carry candy would be helpful.

Finally, remember this is a fun event!  We need a lot of smiles and goodwill, if you come across people with an agenda try to ignore them and remind them that this is a fun event not an occasion for political argument.
