I attended last Friday's monthly meeting and was troubled by many of the things discussed by Michael Masters. Even though I was troubled at the meeting, I did not speak up (which I regret now). Mr. Masters did have some interesting and thought provoking ideas, but the racist framework in which he presented those thoughts are not keeping with the 9 Principles and 12 Values we seek to promote. We all disagree with President Obama, but to use racial slurs when discussing the President does not advance the dialog and marginalizes our message. I believe that the 9-12 effort is focused on uniting people of all political, racial, and religious perspectives around core Principles and Values that can be the bedrock upon which we rebuild this great nation of ours. Mr. Master's divisive use of racial language does not promote the goal of uniting. It was an interesting contract to come home that evening and watch Glenn Beck's program on DVR and see the guests speak of the power of love and God bringing us together for a common cause. By focusing on God and using God's love to move hearts and minds, we will prevail. We in the 9-12 movement need to focus on the higher goal of uniting all Americans around the 9 Principles and 12 Values that are at the heart of our efforts. We must never forget that the 9 Principles and 12 Values are what binds us together and the truth of the 9-12 is the power we draw upon to overcome the adversity we face while restoring America. Sorry for the rant, but I had to speak my mind. It has been bothering me since the meeting. I only wish I had done so at the meeting, but it takes me a while to compose my thoughts.
