The End of the Beginning

I wanted to share part of an e-mail I received from Americans for Prosperity:

As Winston Churchill said in 1942 after an early, hard fought success,"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end.  But it is perhaps the end of the beginning."

Difficult challenges lie ahead.  Already, Pelosi and Reid have planned their "lame duck" session of Congress beginning in mid November.  No doubt, they will attempt to ignore the election and push through their big government agenda one last time before the new Congress convenes in January.  We're launching an effort to stop them.

Go to NovemberSpeaks.com to see what we and allies are planning to do to win this battle.  On November 15, we'll be holding an event at the Capitol to tell this "lame duck" Congress they better not try to thwart the will of the American people by using the "lame duck" session to pass new spending and new programs.

And, beginning November 15 the new Republican caucus -- now a majority in the House of Representatives -- will convene.  We're going to ask you to help us hold them accountable.  First, we are going to insist that the Republican caucus extend the ban on pork-barrel earmarks.

We're winning with the American people.  But, we've got to keep up the pressure and the fight.

There's no time for rest.  We've got a nation to turn around!

The November Speaks website has some fun activities, including a virtual march on the Capitol and a sign-making tool.  Apparently AFP will print out your sign and deliver it to your member of Congress.  There's also a flier for an actual rally in DC on the 15th featuring Michele Bachmann as guest speaker.

fyi, there's also a Virginia AFP chapter.
